• Foundations of Health Science & Technology is an introduction to healthcare careers. The course is designed as an overview of healthcare occupations and the skills required in the health service industry. The course includes academics in healthcare, communications systems, legal responsibilities, ethics, teamwork, employability skills, health maintenance and safety practices, and information technology applications. This course provides an overview of the healthcare system—past, present, and future—and the impact technology has on the quality of healthcare services. The course allows students to research the careers of various health professionals who service, diagnose, and treat various health conditions and diseases in hospitals, clinics, private offices, schools, colleges, and universities, as well as other health service agencies. The course examines the medical needs of a culturally diverse society and examines infectious and safety principles and techniques crucial to healthcare employees and patients.
  • CSTLA Science 1 is a collection of the instructional activities created by the 2006–2007 CSTLA teachers. The units were created using the 2004 Science Frameworks, which serves as a template for the third generation CAPT that will be administered in the spring of 2007. The content areas of Energy Transformations, Chemical Structures and Functions, and Global Interdependence will serve as the topic outline.

  • Bio21 is a lab-intensive science course that covers the most exciting fundamentals of life science in the context of Biotechnology. This course exposes students to cutting-edge technologies, current and controversial issues, people, practices, and future ideals of Biotechnology as it prepares them for future careers in the sciences.
